Aussie MotoGP rider Jack Miller has qualified second-fastest behind Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia in the San Marino Grand Prix.

Bagnaia set a new track record time of 1:31.065s at Misano as the Italian eyes a second win in as many weeks after his triumph at Aragon.

Bagnaia was 0.249s ahead of Jack Miller and 0.302s faster than championship leader Fabio Quartararo.

"There's a lot of Ducatis around that one poor Yamaha," Miller told Sky Sports.

"We're in a good position, we've been strong all week.

"I'm looking forward to the race. There's still a question mark about this Italian weather we're getting here at the beach but I think in all conditions we've got a good rhythm, a good pace. The group feeling here is good."

Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco will be fourth and fifth on the grid.

"I'm really happy, it's always good to start in pole," Bagnaia added.

"It's since Aragon that I've been really comfortable with the bike, we've hardly touched anything since and everything's working perfectly."

Marc Marquez finished seventh after crashing in Q2.
