Supercross rider fined and banned after attacking rival

An AMA supercross rider has been fined over $7000 and banned for a race after repeatedly punching a rival who had crashed into him twice during a race.

Weston Peick got back into the race after being knocked off the course by Vince Freise for the first time in Anahiem.

“They get together, pretty innocent. Blocked the line there and Peick gets the short straw there,” the commentator said of the first contact between the pair.

But when it happened a second time, this time deliberately, Peick totally lost his composure.

Footage shows Freise hit his long-time rival coming out of a corner, with both riders coming off their bikes.

A clearly incensed Peick jumps up and lets his fists fly, hitting his rival in the back of the helmet and neck before pushing him off the track.

“This though was totally intentional by Freise. He goes in way too aggressive,” the commentator says of the crash that sent Peick into a rage.
