Reigning V8 Supercars champion Mark Winterbottom is the fastest man around the Symmons Plains circuit.
The Prodrive Racing driver's lap of 51.4225 seconds was good enough to beat the field around the windy Tasmanian track.
In a confidence boost for the team, Winterbottom's teammspotate Cam Waters was second, followed by Jamie Whincup.
The entire field finished within a second of each other during a hyper-competitive and tricky day held in blowy conditions with dirt stren across the regional circuit.
