Matthew MacKelden stretchered off Mount Panorama after brutal crash in Bathurst support race
Matthew MacKelden has been stretchered off the track at Mount Panorama after a brutal crash during Race 3 in the Bathurst 1000 support categories.
MacKelden's race was brought to an end on turn seven of the fourth lap when he lost control of his Ford Mustang before colliding into the barrier on the right side of the track.
He was immediately attended to by the medical staff on hand and was stretchered into an ambulance with his car left mangled.

"That's gone around. That's facing the wrong direction," lead commentator Greg Rust said on Fox Sports' coverage of the race.

"It's just the transition of the weight, isn't it?" co-commentator Chris Stubbs added.
"Just too far to the left and onto the ripple strips which unsettles the balance of the back of the car and sends him across to the other side of the wall."
It was an unfortunate finish to the race for MacKelden, who suffered his second crash of the weekend to end his season in dire circumstances.
Dream Racing Australia's Nathan Herne took out the race with a time of 15:39.78, while Wall Racing's Tim Brook (15:40.23) and Morris Finance Racing's Kyle Gurton (15:41.15) rounded out the podium.
