Marc Marquez 'lucky' to walk away after scary fall in Thailand
Moto GP champion Marc Marquez will soldier on and try and snare his sixth MotoGP world title this weekend despite a scary fall during practice in Thailand.
Concerning vision from the Spaniard's helmet camera released by MotoGP officials showed the stunning footage of the Honda star taking a massive tumble as he hit a corner.
Marquez was so shaken up by the fall, he was seen hunched on the gravel as other riders sped past.
The Spaniard was taken to a hospital in Buriram for a check-up and by all accounts the champion rider escaped unscathed.
Team manager Alberto Puig told reporters Marquez had an MRI scan but nothing serious was found and "he will go out and he will try to continue".
"We were lucky today."
Marquez secured his eighth victory of the season at Aragon Motorland in Spain last month, a victory all but ending any lingering hopes Andrea Dovizioso, Danilo Petrucci, Alex Rins, Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi still had of lifting the trophy.
He had his eyes on sealing the title in Thailand on Sunday.
It is the second time the Thailand MotoGP has been held at the Chang circuit in Buriram.
Marquez won the inaugural race last year in a thrilling last turn battle with Ducati's Dovizioso, who sits second in the standings.
