Want to mow the lawn in two minutes flat?

Then strap on a helmet, put on your best protective leathers and ask the guys at Top Gear if you can borrow their Mean Mower - now the fastest grass cutter in the land.

Their insane lawnmower has just entered the record books after setting a land speed record...for mowers.

On a secret track somewhere in Spain, Top Gear's Piers Ward put the ever-so-slightly modified mower to the test in an effort to break the previous record that stood at 140km/h.

The team had convinced the record-keepers from Guinness to come along to witness the attempt and it's lucky they did.

After two rides - Guinness requires the average of both - Ward had clocked an average speed of 187.6km/h.

Another of Guinness’s requirements was that the lawn mower in question couldn't just be a mini speed machine - it actually had to have the ability to cut grass.

Keep an eye out for the Mean Mower at your local mower store soon. Or not.
