TAKE OUTS FROM THE FIRST TWO AUST GP F1 PRACTICE SESSIONS:

*Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton was fastest in both sessions affected by rain - posting a 1min 29.725secs lap first-up and 1:38.841secs in the second

*Teammate Nico Rosberg's evening ended early after he slid into a concrete wall and smashed the new nose on his Mercedes

*Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished third and fourth in the two sessions, while his Red Bull teammate Daniil Kvyat was second and 10th

*McLaren-Honda enjoyed a better first outing at Albert Park than last year, with Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button finishing inside the top eight in both sessions with plenty of laps

*Renault, Sauber and Williams didn't log a time in the second session, feeling there was nothing to learn on the wet track with dry conditions expected for qualifying on Saturday
