Monaco not prepared to give up Formula 1 grand prix amid American influx
The iconic Monaco Grand Prix is not going anywhere despite an explosion of American interest in Formula 1, according to Automobile Club de Monaco president Michel Boeri.
Formula 1 has boomed in popularity in recent years, particularly in the United States, which has seen the Miami Grand Prix added for the 2022 season, with Las Vegas also given a race from 2023 onward.
The American influx has put a number of iconic venues around the world at risk of losing their races, with Belgium, France, Monaco and Mexico entering the final year of their deals.

However, according to Boeri, Monaco has no plans to give up the race it has held in every calendar year since 1955, barring 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"It was suggested Liberty Media's demands were too excessive for Monaco and the grand prix would no longer be held," Boeri told French magazine Auto Hebdo.
"That's not true. We are still in talks with them and we must now make it concrete by signing a contract.
"I can guarantee you that after 2022, the grand prix will continue to take place.
"I don't know if the contract will be three or five years, but that's a detail."
The next race on the Formula 1 calendar will take place on April 24, at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola.
