Fans ride along for Bathurst fast lap

V8 Supercar driver James Courtney has taken motorsport fans on a white-knuckle ride around the Mount Panorama track ahead of the Bathurst 1000.

In the footage, the Holden driver flies across the road, hugs the concrete walls and kisses the kerbs as he sets a flying lap of the famous track.

Taking advantage of a number of different camera angles, fans’ hearts are set racing as Courtney navigates his way across the notoriously difficult layout.

Speeding through Hells Corner to start the lap, Courtney blasts up the mountain, glides through Cutting before coming back down the mountain, slicing down the Dipper and the Elbow, before the full throttle, 300 kmph blast down Conrod Straight.

Narrated by Courtney himself, who describes the lap like a 'rollercoaster', the video allows fans a unique and often frightening perspective of what it takes to tame the Bathurst beast.
