F1 fans get rare insight into Red Bull Racing

Motorsport fans have been given a rare insight into what happens inside a Formula One team once the chequered flag falls on a grand prix.

Red Bull Racing, home of Australian racer Daniel Ricciardo, have invited rev-heads into their England-based factory just 24 hours after the Italian leg of the world championship in a new online video.

In the footage, team principal Christian Horner guides fans on a typical day around the factory following a race weekend, from when he arrives to when he finally quits for the night.

Horner, who has guided the four-time world champions since 2005, answers emails, meets technical advisers, gives a speech to the entire workplace and proudly shows off the trophies the team has won under his tenure.

The 40-year-old is even forced to sign-off on Ricciardo’s expense claims sheet, a joking Horner calling the West Australian a ‘tight bugger’ for billing the company for a bottle of water, lunch and snacks.

However, Horner, who breaks off from the video to answer a call from Ricciardo, describes the 25-year-old’s fifth place finish at the Italian Grand Prix as the “maximum we were going to get out of it”.

The world championship has now moved to Singapore where Ricciardo has finished third on the first day of practice.
