Record field of 70 cars entered for Bathurst 6 Hour, including Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen
A record field has been confirmed for next month's Bathurst 6 Hour race, including a host of current and former Supercars stars.
A 70-car entry list has been revealed for the race, which will be the biggest ever field assembled for an endurance event at Mount Panorama.
Defending Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen headlines the field in a BMW he'll share with Shane Smollen and Rob Rubis, as the trio look to repeat their 2021 victory.

The grid will be made up of cars representing 15 different brands, 34 different models and more than 160 drivers.
The field is comprised of cars in eight classes, separated by performance levels and vehicle affordability.
The outright category contains BMWs worth more than $130,000, while in Class E there's $20,000 Suzuki Swifts.

Other well known names on the entry list include Will Davison, Tim Slade, John Bowe, Marcos Ambrose and David Russell, who finished third in last year's Bathurst 1000.
There's very much a family theme to the race, with 11 of the 70 entries made up either partly or entirely by drivers related to each other.

Among the field is 1987 Bathurst 1000 champion Peter McLeod, 35 years after he tasted victory with Peter Brock and David Parsons.
McLeod will share a HSV Astra in Class C with his grandson Benjamin, while his other two grandsons - Nick and Cameron - will drive a Ford Mustang alongside Supercars team owner Tim Blanchard.
