Rogue mobile phone stops ODI
Play was halted during the fourth ODI between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Durban when players came across something never seen on a cricket pitch.
A mobile phone.
South Africa was out in the middle in the 36th over when the phone was spotted in the outfield.
As officials and players try and figure out who it belongs to a Sri Lanka fan in the crowd starts waving his arms gesturing to the phone.
A Sri Lankan player then picks up the phone and walks around aimlessly confused by the phone’s presence.
He then ends up throwing the phone to Sri Lanka’s 12th man who drops the phone but eventually does everyone a favour and hands it back to the fan.
There were no explanations regarding how the phone got on the field and if it actually belonged to the fan claiming it.
All that’s important is that man and mobile were reunited.
