Miller craving more laps at MotoGP test

Australian Jack Miller is hoping for better weather and more track time on day two of official MotoGP testing at Phillip Island.

Rain limited the Queenslander to just six laps on Wednesday, his first time riding for Marc VDS Racing Team Honda since breaking his leg in a training accident last month.

Not wanting to risk further injury, Miller completed only two short runs on slick tyres in the wet and was restricted in his use of his rear brake.

He finished the day ninth overall, with Ducati's Danilo Petrucci the quickest, but still managed to test a number of new parts.

"Now we just need some better weather and a lot more laps," said the 21-year-old.

"The leg was fine; once I'm on the bike it's really good. Okay, I can't use the rear brake as much as I'd like to but I can work on my riding style to compensate for that."

Testing continues on Thursday and Friday, ahead of a final test in Qatar in March and the season opener in Losail on March 17.
