London woman takes on unknown Mayweather

Boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jnr has finally been stopped in his tracks – and all it took was a stranger who didn’t recognise the undefeated fighter.

Mayweather, a 10-time world title winner, is one of the most bankable athletes in the world, commanding attention for his high-profile fights and celebrity lifestyle.

Nicknamed the ‘Money Man’, Mayweather has topped Forbes’ 50 highest-paid athletes for the past three years, making him arguably the wealthiest sports person in the world.

However, that meant little to a London woman who couldn’t understand the fuss being made when the 37-year-old dropped by a barber during a visit to the English capital.

In the footage, Mayweather is left stunned when the woman tells him: “I don’t know you, so what’s the big deal?”

Like the rare occurrence when he gets knocked to the canvas, Mayweather is quickly on his feet, asking the woman if she owns a television.

But the woman counters, throwing a quick jab in her thick Jamaican accent: “I got four in my house, four. Yeah. I just don’t watch boxing. I know about Mike Tyson.”

Clearly annoyed, Mayweather weaves and ducks, demanding his opponent check Google, but then almost immediately changes his angle of attack, declaring: “You know what, you know what, you know what something, I need to Google you.”

But the woman, a fan of Olympic champion Usain Bolt, knows she has Mayweather cornered, telling him: “I like big fight, I like exciting fight. If it’s not a big fight I don’t watch it.”

Down and almost out, the champ retaliates one last time with a powerful haymaker: “The Money Man takes 60 minutes, he take 60 minutes and he make over a $100 million in 60 minutes.”

However, it’s unknown whether the final comment was enough to land the knockout blow and for Mayweather to claim another victory.
