'Lion King cam' gets thumbs up from fans
Basketball timeouts have never been so popular thanks to the Phoenix Sun’s adorable rendition of the ‘Lion King cam’ during their home clash against west-coast heavy weights the Golden State Warriors.
A far more endearing affair than the clichéd kiss-cam, the ‘Lion King cam’ has parents and caregivers hold their young-ones high above their head, a la Simba, while the canonical opening theme of the Lion King blares over the loud-speaker.
The sight of babies being thrust high in the air above a fanatical crowd had even the most hardened fans breaking a smile as the ordeal sent twitter into meltdown.
“The Phoenix Suns doing a Lion King Cam where people raise their babies in the air like Simba is the greatest thing to happen in the NBA ever,” said one user.
While another tweeted; “I was there for this and honestly it was pretty cute. Lion King cam > kiss cam any day.”
However, the influx of cuteness wasn’t enough to wear downed the determined Warriors as the Suns went down 106-100 at the end of time.
