Jockey's jump calls ride into question

Powered by

A jockey who came off his mount in England overnight has the sporting world questioning whether it was deliberate or not.

Jockey Ciaran Gethings appeared to fall off his ride Deckers Delight in the fourth race at Hereford.

The horse seems to have misjudged a jump over a fence which causes the jockey to become unbalanced.

But what has punters baffled is how Gethings looked like he was going to fall just after the jump, then appears to regain his seat.

A few seconds later he disembarks from the galloper.

And to the delight of conspiracy theorists, apparently there were market fluctuations to suggest something fishy may have been going on.

Deckers Delight was completely neglected when it came to bets placed on the race with the seven-year-old hurdlers price inflating from $10 to $31.

Such a jump in odds has many believing Gethings fall may have been less than genuine even though there was no mention of the ride in the stewards report.
