Jeff Horn will beat Manny Pacquiao again, says trainer

The trainer of new world champion Jeff Horn says he has no doubts the Brisbane schoolteacher can beat Manny Pacquiao again, should a rematch go ahead.

Horn has celebrated with his inner circle after his historic victory over Pacquiao in Brisbane, spending the night reflecting on his new status as a world champion, and says it’s starting to sink in.

“Spectacular, it feels like a dream come true,” Horn said.

Wife Jo says she couldn’t watch as the fight reached its conclusion.

“In that ninth round, I was like ‘I don’t know if I can handle any more of these rounds’ but then he came back and he was just like a different person, it was just amazing,” she said.

Father Jeff senior says Horn finished the fight much stronger than Pacquiao.

“He really came back and performed fantastically in rounds 10, 11 and 12 and that type of comeback you don’t see.”

Trainer Glenn Rushton says Pacquiao was tiring towards the end of the fight, and a rematch would produce the same winner.

“He did his best at the end but I could see he was struggling mentally to get through those later rounds and whether he could come back. I can tell you if he fights Jeff Horn again, Jeff will beat him much more convincingly next time.”
