Queensland honours WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn with ticker tape parade through Brisbane

WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn will have a chance to express his appreciation to hometown supporters today as the City of Brisbane celebrates his victory over Manny Pacquiao with a ticker tape parade.

Horn’s controversial victory gave sport fans a chance to witness Australia’s very own Cindirella story and festivities began last night with the Victoria Bridge lit up in orange in his honour.

The world champion will take part in a ticker tape parade down Queen st in Brisbane and then will host a signing session at Reddacliff Place. 

The former school teacher will then be handed the keys to the city.

Horn pulled off a magnificent victory over 11-time world champion Manny Pacquiao via unanimous points decision to secure his first world title in 18 professional bouts.
