Hunt demands payout over Lesnar fight

Fighter Mark Hunt has demanded restitution after hearing news Brock Lesnar had been notified about a potential anti-doping violation.

In the wake of the allegations, Australian-based Hunt, who lost to Lesnar at UFC 200, told Mark Hunt.TV he had asked UFC president Dana White for half of Lesnar's US$2.5 million purse or he would walk away from his contract.

Earlier today the UFC released a statement saying the USADA had informed Lesnar and the fighting organisation on a potential anti-doping violation by the 39-year-old on June 28, 2016 - five days before he defeated Hunt at UFC 200.

Lesnar was granted an exemption by the UFC from its own rule stating a fighter coming out of retirement must inform USADA four months out so that fighter could be placed into the drug-testing pool.

It was a decision he had called "unfair" and "bull---" before the fight and in the interview today he reaffirmed his stance.

"When they gave him the exemption to come back I wasn’t too happy about it but they assured me they were all over him," Hunt said.

"I saw Brock made millions for this fight, more than anyone ever.

"I wanna know what they are gonna do to Brock now. When you don’t make weight they give twenty percent of your purse to the other fighter. If you get caught cheating you should lose all of it.

"I’ve told Dana I want half of Brock’s purse."

Hunt had already shared his doubts about Lesnar's preparations, saying: "I think he's juiced to the gills."

And on social media Hunt has been been retweeting comments by people calling for him to be paid:

"This is the third time I’ve had to fight a cheater in my career," he said.

"The other two times I didn’t ask for compensation, but this is the third time and I’m sick of them getting away with cheating."
