'Can't put it into words': Star filly Treasurethe Moment wins $1 million VRC Crown Oaks on quick back-up

Pre-race favourite Treasurethe Moment has taken out the 2024 VRC Crown Oaks.
The talented filly proved too good for a strong field in the $1 million feature race at Flemington on Thursday afternoon.
Damian Lane rode the winner, who was on a quick back-up from Saturday where she won the Group 2 Wakeful ahead of some similar runners.

The champion jockey produced a terrific steer to get Treasurethe Moment past the front-runners, finishing a length ahead of rival Powers Of Opal in second.

"I can't put it into words, it was painless to watch. It's a dream," trainer Matt Laurie told Nine in the moments after the triumph.
"20 years of work really trying to achieve something like this. I'm so grateful to my team.
"You could throw anything at her she's that talented. She conserves all her energy and she lets down, it was very painless."

After being scratched on Derby Day, outsider Hurry Curry snagged third place.
Harlem Queen, who made the trip down from Sydney, ran on for fourth.
