Jake Noonan's chance to ride in a Group One race in Adelaide hinges on an appeal against a careless riding ban.

Noonan fronts the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Wednesday to appeal the severity of a nine-meeting careless suspension.

He has been booked to ride the Henry Dwyer-trained Precious Gem in the Sangster Stakes at Morphettville on Saturday.

Noonan pleaded guilty to the charge stemming from his win aboard Oregon's Day in the Listed Thoroughbred Club Cup at Caulfield on Saturday.

Noonan needs three days shaved off to enable him to take the ride in Adelaide.

Patrick Moloney is also appealing the severity of his 11 meeting careless riding suspension handed out after his ride on Atlantic Express in the same Caulfield race on Saturday.
