Trainer to face two charges at RAD Board

AAP

Powered by

Geelong trainer Kelvin Bourke will front the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on two charges relating to a prohibited substance being detected in one of his horses.

Can't Refuse returned positive tests to phenylbutazone and its metabolite oxyphenbutazone, an anti-inflammatory, in both pre-race and post-race blood samples taken when he ran at Sandown in July.

The gelding finished last in the 1800m race, almost 40 lengths from the winner Scholarly.
