Thunderstorm threats bring meeting forward

The likelihood of thunderstorms in the north of Victoria has forced officials to bring the Tatura race meeting forward.

Racing Victoria says Tuesday's meeting will start 1-1/2 hours earlier than originally advertised.

Thunderstorms and lightning are expected in the region around 4pm, so rather than part of the meeting being delayed, or lost, RV made the decision to alter the starting and finishing times.

The first race will be run at noon, with the final race of the eight programmed to run at 3.30pm.
