Stable change sparks Red Bomber into form

A change of scenery has been the catalyst for a return to winning form for Red Bomber at Flemington.

The gelding joined the Lindsay Park operation of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig after finishing 16th in the Group One CF Orr Stakes at Caulfield for Mick Price on February 13.

After some track gallops at Lindsay Park's country base at Euroa, the removal of blinkers and a drop in class, Red Bomber has taken the Group Three TAB Rewards Stakes on Saturday.

Ridden by Damian Lane, Red Bomber ($9) scored a short half-head win from Burning Front ($6) with Puccini ($31) a head away third.

Dabernig said Red Bomber's owner Betty Hoare had most of her horses trained by Price but she thought the gelding would benefit in a country environment.

"He goes out in the paddock during the day," Dabernig said.

"We can't take too much credit for the win but it's amazing a change of stable can sometimes perk a horse up."
