O'Lordy provides ideal tonic for owner

Pedigree analyst-turned-taxi driver Lance Horan has received a boost as he battles illness, with O'Lordy graduating from the Highway Handicap series with her second victory at Rosehill.

Goulburn trainer Danny Williams recorded his eighth win in Saturday's race for country-trained horses and happily shared the kudos with the New Zealand-born part-owner.

"He's been battling cancer so that's a great boost for him," Williams said.

O'Lordy claimed her first Highway Handicap (1200m) in May. Her second came first-up after a spell, with Kathy O'Hara finding a split coming off the rail.

The $21 chance hit the line a length clear of fast-finishing Realing ($9) while Southern Flight ($12) was 1-1/4 lengths further back.

O'Lordy only started racing as a four-year-old after persistent shin soreness and this campaign was delayed after she trod on a nail and required surgery.

"It was actually a blessing in hindsight because she's really furnished and the time that she's had out has done her the world of good," Williams said.

He had three runners and thought Tiger By The Tale his best chance before rain intervened.

"That little bit of rain certainly brought O'Lordy right into the race," he said.

Tiger By The Tale was seventh and Arrondissement languished 12th and last.
