Maiden win for Horsey McHorseface at Cessnock races

He’s become known as the ‘people’s horse’, and Horsey McHorseface has finally broken through for his first win.

The oddly-named three-year-old saluted at Cessnock, in the New South Wales Hunter region.

Horsey McHorseface was named in honour of the British research vessel, Boaty McBoatface, which received overwhelming public support when the UK Government asked for suggestions for a name for a new ship.

Such is his popularity, Horsey McHorseface even has his own Twitter account, although with only 27 followers he's not quite in the same league as the Kardashian family.

We salute you, horse, for your name is hilarious.
