Trainer Stuart Kendrick has advised punters to ignore the first-up failure of stakes winner Divine Centuri at the Sunshine Coast.

Divine Centuri won four of her first six starts including the Listed Mick Dittman Plate and a strong three-year-old race.

Kendrick had such a high opinion of Divine Centuri he accepted with her in last year's Group One Doomben 10,000.

However, disaster struck when Divine Centuri was found to be lame on the Friday before the big race and was scratched.

Kendrick gave Divine Century a long spell and she made her return to racing when beaten a length into fourth place at the Sunshine Coast on February 19.

Her trainer is expecting a better run when Divine Centuri tackles Saturday's Open Hcp (1110m) at Doomben.

"She really blew after the Sunshine Coast run. I had given her a jump-out and she had a good gallop on the course proper between races with Charnley River in the lead-up," Kendrick said.

"She will be a lot better for the first up run."

Ryan Wiggins, who won the Mick Dittman Plate on Divine Centuri will be hoping for a winning send-off on the mare.

Wiggins has accepted a contract to ride in Mauritius from the end of the month.
