Deanne Panya double at Rosehill

In the absence of most of Sydney's top 10 riders, apprentices have had a day out at Rosehill.

The premiership leaders were in Brisbane where Saturday's Queensland Oaks meeting was called off because of storms.

The weather in Sydney was also wet but all nine races were run, with Koby Jennings winning four and Deanne Panya two in the absence of many senior jockeys who had a fruitless trip to Brisbane.

Panya, who rode her first Saturday metropolitan winner just two weeks ago, won aboard the Bjorn Baker-trained Sebrina and Foreign Prince for David Payne.

Both led in the heavy conditions and held off all challengers with Sebrina winning by four lengths and Foreign Prince by three-quarters of a length.

"With Sebrina I held her together as well as I could and let her run on her own steam," Panya said.

"I would have preferred to be out wider on the track but she was travelling well.

"Mr. Payne told me to let Foreign Prince roll along.

"He also told me to ride him hands and heels, which I did, and the horse did the rest.

"It's my first city double, so it's been a good day."
