As long as Racing NSW keeps putting on metropolitan races for country horses, trainer Robert Price will be in Sydney every Saturday.

Price, who trains on the NSW South Coast, has been trying to win one of the Highway Handicaps since they were introduced a few weeks ago.

Dashie De Luxe ($13) proved she was up to the task at Rosehill on Saturday when she handled the heavy track to beat Eccitare ($10) with Grand Proposal ($5.50) another 1-1/4 lengths third.

"I'm determined to support every single one of these races," Price said.

"I've got a stack of horses at home ready to come up for them.

"It's a great initiative for country horses and this little mare is getting hard to place so this was a good option for her.

"There's not much of her but what she lacks in ability she makes up for in heart."

Dashie De Luxe broke her maiden at Nowra on October 6 and ran sixth in a Highway race at Randwick 13 days later.

She was then beaten a short head at Nowra on November 3 and backed up to win Saturday's Class 3 (1400m) just 13 days later.

"She is extremely tough so I don't where we go with her now," Price said.
