Horn just wants to pay off his mortgage

Fame, fortune, a world title belt - there are plenty of things driving Jeff Horn at the moment.

But his No.1 motivator is the same thing that forces men and women across the country to pay heed to their alarm clocks and drag themselves to work every morning.

The mortgage.

"All I think about is setting up the family and the future," Horn told reporters less than two days out from the "Battle of Brisbane", the biggest fight in Australian boxing history and the biggest moment of his life.

"I want (my wife) Jo to be happy and our eventual kids to be happy."

A win on Sunday for Horn against the legendary Manny Pacquiao will ensure he never has to worry about the weekly budget again.

Horn, a 29-year-old former schoolteacher, will reportedly pocket $500,000 regardless of the result on Sunday at Suncorp Stadium.

That's nothing compared with the $10 million that Pacquiao, 38, is said to be earning.

But if Horn can claim the Filipino's WBO welterweight championship, he will become an Australian sporting icon and a global man of the moment.

A rematch with Pacquiao could beckon and his promoters have already spoken about wanting to unify his weight division by chasing the IBF, WBA and WBC title belts.

Even if he loses, the exposure to a US television audience of millions will make him an in-demand fighter.

"I try not to think about what's going to happen after this event until it actually happens," Horn said.

"I already feel like my life's changed.

"It's all been a lot different and maybe it just won't stop.

"Especially the bank statement ... I'm hoping if I can get through this fight and have a good win, definitely I'm not going to have to worry about any of that type of stuff any more.

"I still have a mortgage on the house. Hopefully that will be paid off by the end of this."
