Baseball players ends argument with 'drop the mic' home run

As far as ‘'drop the mic’’ moments go, Oakland Athletics slugger Billy Butler couldn’t have done much better.

We’ve all seen how baseball players love a chat and how sometimes things can get out of hand in a hurry. 

The intentional hurling of a baseball at a hitter’s body is what usually follows any type of disagreement, but this time it was the hitter (Butler) who ended the argument.

In a match between Butler’s A’s and Cleveland, Indians catcher Chris Giminez managed to get himself into an argument.

After almost a minute of back-and-forward between Butler and Giminez – a clash which required the umpire to attempt to quieten things down – Butler smashed the next pitch 135m for a mammoth home run.

His bat flip - a show of bravado that is usually frowned upon - said it all.

Butler may have won the battle, but the high-flying Indians won the war. They scored a 6-3 win over Oakland to continue their stellar season.
