Gridiron: Player hauls in stunning catch off rival's back

There are not too many occasions you'll see a gridiron player pat a rival on the back for helping them score a touchdown.

But that's exactly what happened when Ohio State wide receiver Noah Brown took one of the touchdown passes of the season against Oklahoma in US college football.

The seconds were ticking down in the first half when Ohio quarterback J.T. Barrett launched a high, spiralling pass into the end zone for Brown.

However, Brown couldn’t get away from defender Michiah Quick, who expertly pushed his rival to the sidelines and gained front position for the ball as the pair leapt for the catch. 

But in vision that has to be seen multiple times to believe, Brown shows all his athleticism, manoeuvrability and awareness to miraculously pin the ball one-handed to the back of the defender as they come back down to the pitch.

The stunning grab was called a touchdown and an inspired Ohio went on to win 45-24.
