'This is not okay!': Team England furious of wild weather at World Cup of Golf

Team England have lashed course officials at The Metropolitan after they were forced to play through wild weather at the World Cup of Golf.

Having caught a waterlogged bunker late in the day Team England were furious at having to take a drop that resulted in their next shot failing to clear the lip, as their ball fell back into the pooling water.

“This is not okay,” Ian Poulter was heard saying over the officials’ microphone as rain pelted down.

“So at what stage is this going to be unplayable?

“This is how ridiculous this…this course is unplayable.

“I know we need to go for TV but I don’t need to go anywhere because I’m not going home till Sunday night.”

The wild weather wreaked havoc across much of the day in Melbourne with several teams falling victim to the relentless rain.

“Things have grinded to a halt here for team England,” commentators said.

Belgians Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry are setting the pace at 11-under-par, alongside Koreans Byeong Hun An and Si Woo Kim.

England duo Poulter and Tyrrell Hatton, as well as Italy's Andrea Pavan and Renato Paratore, are two shots back at nine under.
