US Masters 2017: Marc Leishman and Russell Henley turn on the final day magic

Australian Marc Leishman and US golfer Russell Henley didn’t win the 2017 US Masters, but at least they’ll leave Augusta with smiles on their faces.

Both men scored stunning eagles on par-4s during the final round of the first major of the year.

Leishman headed into the tournament as one of the in-form golfers after having recently won the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Russell Henley was initially confused as to the state of his ball.

But his chances of winning were well and truly done when he started the final round at 11-over-par, a massive 17 shots adrift of the leaders.

This brilliant shot shown in the video above showed more than just how good these top pro golfers can be when they get everything right – it also provided further evidence as to the speed and undulation of the greens.

While Leishman was able to watch his ball snake its way into the hole from his spot back down the fairway, Henley was initially at a loss as to what happened with his second shot on the fifth.

He slam-dunked his ball into the hole, with the force of the ball damaging the hole.

He was initially unable to work out what happened to his ball, but once word filtered through his confused look was quickly replaced by a beaming smile.

After greens staff did some quick repair work, play continued as the likes of Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia approached.
