Cause of Tiger Woods' crash being kept secret, unless golf icon decides otherwise
The cause of Tiger Woods' crash is for now being kept secret.
Los Angeles Country Sheriff Alex Villanueva said on Thursday (AEDT) that detectives had figured out why Woods crashed a borrowed SUV but would not disclose details without the golf icon's permission.
"A cause has been determined, the investigation has concluded," Villanueva said during a live social media event.
"It's completed, signed, sealed and delivered. However, we can't release it without the permission of the people involved in the collision.
"There's some privacy issues on releasing information on the investigation, so we're going to ask them if they waive the privacy and then we will be able to do a full release on all the information regarding the accident."

The County Sheriff has previously been criticised for being quick to deem the incident an accident. Woods was not blood tested for alcohol or drugs.
The golfer was driving the SUV at about 7am local time on February 23 when he crossed the median strip of a downhill section of road. The SUV left the road and rolled, with Villanueva saying that Woods was fortunate not to have been killed.
Villanueva would not say what information had been discovered on the SUV's 'black box'. Authorities gained a warrant to retrieve the item from the trashed vehicle, in the hope of finding useful data.
Crash experts have told USA Today since the investigation that the scene of Woods' accident was consistent with the driver having been asleep of otherwise inactive at the wheel.
TMZ reported that there was no evidence of Woods ever using the brakes during the crash.
Woods is recovering at his home in Florida, having undergone surgery for serious fractures to his lower right leg.
There are doubts about the future of the 15-time major winner's golf career due to his injuries, on top of long-term back problems.
