Golf: Fairway invader gets best view on the PGA Tour

A daring golf fan has taken advantage of some slack security to run on to the fairway for the perfect vantage point of the OHL Classic on the PGA Tour.

But don’t think twice that this could be some new, fan-friendly policy finding its way on to the world’s most lucrative competition.

The intruder, a curious spider monkey, clambered out of the jungle adorning the El Camaleon course in Mexico and strode out on the fairway.

The primate then rose to its full height, a modest 122cm, to get a good look at the players putting out on the green.

This wasn’t the only incident of the little critters wanting to leave their mark on the tournament with another – or possible the same one! – monkey being snapped in the driver’s seat of Greg Norman’s golf cart.

There are no reports to indicate that the ‘Great White Shark’ took the little guy on as a caddie for the day.
