Snedeker to play Australian PGA

Two years after a Segway accident kept him away, American golfer Brandt Snedeker will tee up in the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast with the chance to win $1 million for one shot.

World No.30 Snedeker was entered in the 2013 Australian PGA only to be forced to withdraw when he strained knee ligaments when hopping off a Segway while at an event in China.

His return for the event at Royal Pines from December 3-6 is timely as he's enjoyed a good season after making swing changes with his coach Butch Harmon.

The 2012 Fedex Cup winner recorded his seventh US PGA Tour victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am early this year and following up with a further five top-10 finishes.

"I'm excited to finally get to the Gold Coast in December, I have always enjoyed playing golf down under, it's a pretty spot and the fans are always so welcoming," said Snedeker.

"I was disappointed that I wasn't able to make the trip in 2013 but I will be steering clear of Segways so that I can give winning the title my best shot."

The Australian PGA will be playing host to a $1 million prize hole - a feature not seen in Australian golf since the early 80s.

On the Sunday those competing in the final round will have the chance to win a million dollars by making a hole-in-one on the 16th hole - which will have a a bar, viewing platforms and seating areas for fans.
