'He's hit his dad!': Errant Rory McIlroy approach shot hits father in the crowd at The Masters
World No.12 Rory McIlroy has had a moment he will never forget on the opening day of The Masters after he accidentally hit his dad with an errant shot.
The incident occurred with McIlroy on the seventh hole in Round One when an approach shot went awry when the ball landed in the spectators' area.
An audible gasp could be heard from those in attendance before McIlroy's own caddie, childhood best friend Harry Diamond, noticed someone familiar among those ducking for cover.

"That was your dad you hit?" Diamond could be heard asking McIlroy.
"Yeah!" McIlroy replied, confirming the hit.
The hilarious incident also caught the attention of the commentary team who could scarcely believe what they had just seen.
"He's hit his dad!" one commentator said.
"The smile you could see as he said, 'Yeah!' was what was kind of interesting there."
