Minji Lee fires up in LPGA Classic

Australia's teenage golf star Minjee Lee has rocketed up the leaderboard during the second round of the women's Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in California on Friday.

The 19-year-old, who was tied 59th overnight, shot a blemish-free second round of seven-under-par 65 to move to tied third.

With three birdies on the turn, she stormed home with four birdies to improve on Thursday's first round by eight shots.

Lee is currently one behind joint leaders Japan's Haru Nomura and New Zealand's Lydia Ko, who has completed 12 holes.
