Sometimes you just have to know when to quit.

A group of brave golfers endured one of the most brutal rounds ever seen in the sport after battling 100kp/h winds and ferocious seas off the coast of Canada.

Playing at the Victoria Golf Club on Vancouver Island, the hardy duo are buffeted by the treacherous winds and soaked by the waves crashing into the rocks as they try to make their way round the 18-hole course.

Decked out in full weather gear, the two men can barely hit their drives off the tee while walking from hole-to-hole is a near mission impossible.

However, the sheer test of playing in such deplorable conditions is best shown when one of the players tries to putt out after miraculously finding the green.

Putting from just on the green, the man, his leg pants flapping in the wind, can only watch on as the ball sails past the hole, the flag nearly bending past breaking point.

Footage of the horror round wasn’t accompanied with the men's scorecards, but it's a sure fire bet they didn’t make for pretty reading.
