Cullen continues struggle at EPGA school

Reigning Australian Masters champion Nick Cullen has a fight on his hands to secure a European Tour card going into the final round of qualifying school in Spain.

Cullen produced an even-par 72 on Wednesday to be six-under for tournament in a tie for 31st with American Daniel Im and England's Ross McGowan sharing the lead on 17-under.

South Australian Cullen's round came a day after he fired a horror six-over-par, hurting his chances of snaring one of the 25 tour cards on offer for next season.

The 31-year-old Cullen was sitting pretty in a tie for fifth at the halfway stage of the event.

Jason Scrivener (67) is the best-placed Australian at 11-under in a tie for ninth.

Compatriot Dimi Papadatos (70) is tied 18th at eight-under while Victorian Daniel Gaunt (68) is seven-under in a tie for 24th.

Cullen withdrew from his title defence at the Australian Masters - which started at Huntingdale on Thursday - to focus on securing a European card.
