Caddie outshines albatross-hitting golfer

An American golfer has been outshone by his wacky caddie after scoring a rare albatross on the PGA Tour.

Zach Johnson shot straight to the highlights reel when he found the cup with his second shot on the 467-metre, par-five 16th hole of the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

It was the first time a competitor had scored a two-under on a par-five at the famed Bay Hill Country Club.

However, as footage of the incident shows, Johnson's caddie quickly steals his employer's thunder with a strangely appropriate celebration.

As the crowd erupts to announce the perfect end to the hole, Johnson canters over to this playing group, dishing out high-fives before finally reaching caddie Damon Green.

Green, who has caddied for Johnson since 2004, then started to wave his arms and prance around like a bird, bringing a grin to the golfer's face.

However, that smile would have quickly vanished as the former Masters winner bogeyed the next two holes to squander the two shots he had just picked up.

Johnson eventually finished tied ninth after scoring a fourth round six-under 66, seven shots off winner Matt Every.
