Aaron Baddeley remains close in PGA event

Australia's Aaron Baddeley remains in contention but faces a couple of long days ahead at the US PGA Tour's rain-interrupted Sanderson Farms Classic.

Baddeley, who lost his full tour status at the end of last season, is six shots off the lead of American Roberto Castro after managing to play just four holes of his second round on Saturday before play was called off in rain-soaked Jackson, Mississippi.

Castro, who fired a 10-under 62 in his first round was one of a handful of players to complete their second round, closing out for a five-under 67 to get to 15-under and hold a four-shot clubhouse lead from fellow American Bryce Molder and Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas.

Baddeley birdied his first hole of the second round then made three pars to be at nine-under.

He is one of 76 players have yet to complete their second rounds.

Play is set to resume early Sunday. After the second round is completed, the third and fourth will be played. However, tournament officials are prepared to extend play into Monday if 72 holes can't be completed by darkness on Sunday.

Clear skies are forecast for Sunday and Monday.
