During testing for the 101st Indianapolis 500, formula one star Fernando Alonso experienced some problems but it had nothing to do with car he was driving.

Practice before major races involves understanding power of the vehicle, downforce and pit stop procedures, however nothing could have prepared Alonso for the challenges he endured on the final run of the day.

As Alonso was taking his McLaren Honda Andretti for a spin around the track, the Spaniard hit two birds with both his left and right front tires simultaneously.

Video captures the Formula One driver hauling at more than 200mph when the sheer speed of the car completely obliterates the birds into basically dust.

“It’s a double bird kill,” said a commentator during NBCSN live web stream.

Alonso’s best lap out of 110 had an average lap speed of 222.548 mph—so it’s fair to say the birdies’ didn’t make it.
