Footballer delivers brilliant trick kick restart

A gridiron team has produced one of the best ever trick kick restarts to catch their rivals off guard and reclaim the ball during a US high school game.

While short kick-offs are a common sight in rugby union and occasionally seen in league, anything but a long restart is generally frowned upon in American football.

Mosley High School's Kyle Hudson bucked the trend with a stunning play to completely fool the opposition during a recent match in Florida.

With his rivals standing over 10 yards away, Hudson moved in for what appeared to be a regulation kick-off only to deliberately miss the ball, leap in the air and spin 180 degrees, before back-heeling it along the ground.

With the ball only trickling 10 yards, the Mosely players then managed to pounce on it and reclaim possession to complete the remarkable play.
