Young fan cops brutal Toure shot

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is breathing a sigh of relief after his booming, but wayward shot didn’t leave a young football fan seriously injured during the club’s Premier League draw with QPR.

The little girl, known only as Chloe, was struck squarely in the face after the normally accurate Toure narrowly missed the target midway through the first half of the 2-2 away draw to the Hoops.

In the footage the ball looks destined to curl into the top left corner of the net, but when it misses the goal, the crowd prepare for the oncoming missile.

Ducking and weaving or shielding faces with their hands, the crowd parts and leaves one little girl completely exposed to the danger.

The brutal blow smashes into her face, with the force of the hit almost making it seem as if her head has been taken clear off.

Left more than dazed and confused, the child’s hands are raised high and outstretched, a sign that she was completely taking off-guard by the curling shot.

But despite fears that the young fan could have been knocked out or suffered serious head trauma, QPR allayed any fears that the girl would suffer any long term injury.

However, that didn’t stop a ‘very worried’ Toure from contacting the young girl and her family to offer his apologies.
