World Cup heavyweight matches sold out

World Cup tickets are still available for 12 group games - featuring among others Japan, South Korea, Switzerland and Belgium.

World soccer supremo Joseph Blatter on Wednesday tweeted the match numbers of the games, revealing that all games of hosts Brazil, world and European champions Spain and other heavyweights such as Germany, Italy and the Netherlands are sold out, just as all knock-out round games.

Tickets are still available for Cameroon v Croatia (group A), Ivory Coast v Japan, Japan v Greece, Greece v Ivory Coast (C), Uruguay v Costa Rica (D), Switzerland v Ecuador, Honduras v Switzerland (E), Nigeria v Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bosnia-Herzegovina v Iran (F), Belgium v Algeria, Russia v South Korea and South Korea v Algeria (H).

Blatter said that 45,275 tickets are still up for grabs for these games at the June 12-July 13 tournament in Brazil.

A final online ticket sales phase of the ruling body FIFA started on Tuesday with 199,519 tickets for 54 of the 64 games.

All in all, 2,731,906 tickets had been sold by the time of Blatter's tweet.

Any remaining tickets will be available over-the-counter between June 1 and July 13.
