Manchester United have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League after a stoppage-time Marouane Fellaini goal saw off Young Boys 1-0 in their Group H match at Old Trafford.

Juventus secured their place in the next stage with a 1-0 victory over visitors Valencia with Mario Mandzukic on target.

Manchester City also advanced as they came back from a goal down twice to draw 2-2 at Lyon in Group F.

After a goalless first half, Maxwel Cornet scored twice for Lyon while Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Aguero responded for City.

Shakhtar Donetsk kept their hopes alive with a 3-2 win at Hoffenheim, who can finish no better than third.

Title-holders Real Madrid secured top spot in Group G with second-half goals from Gareth Bale and Lucas Vazquez sealing a 2-0 win at AS Roma.

The Italians were already certain of joining the Spaniards in the round of 16 when CSKA Moscow were beaten 2-1 by Viktoria Plzen at home in one of Tuesday's earlier kick-offs.

Arjen Robben and Robert Lewandowski both scored twice as Bayern Munich hammered Benfica 5-1 to maintain their spot at the top of Group E before the final matchday.

Earlier, Ajax reached the knockout stage for the first time since 2006 with a Dusan Tadic double giving the Dutch side a 2-0 win over 10-man AEK Athens.

Hosts AEK, who had Marko Livaja sent off in the second half, have no points and have been eliminated from European competition after suffering a fifth straight defeat.
