Sydney FC captain Alex Brosque's terrible run with injuries has continued, being ruled out for at least six weeks with a hamstring strain.

He suffered the injury when Sydney FC drew 1-1 with Melbourne Victory on February 27.

It comes just three weeks after Brosque returned from a three-month layoff, also with a hamstring injury.

Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold on Monday sounded frustrated at his captain's bad luck as the A-League season comes down to the business end.

"It's a big blow," Arnold said.

"At the start of the year when we did our recruitment I was looking for Alex Brosque to be a key figure and one of our main goalscorers.

"He has missed 14 games so far this season and as our leader and captain its a big blow.

"We now need everyone else to step up and fill his shoes."
