Female sports reporter hits football fan that allegedly groped her on live TV

A female sports reporter has defended her reaction in hitting a football fan that allegedly groped her.

Mexican journalist Maria Fernanda Mora was doing a live cross from Guadalajara Stadium for Fox Sports when some football fans swarmed her and began celebrating around her.

The harmless football chanting took a turn when she turned around after the report and hit one of the supporters with her microphone.

Mora later claimed that she was sexually harassed by the man while they were jumping around.

On social media she explained what happened from her point of view, and defended her actions.

"What happened to me happens to thousands of women every day in countless public spaces," she said.

"The difference is that it happened to me during a live link television and I decided to defend myself.

"I thought, 'It could be an accidental rubbing because of people's pushing,' and I kept talking to the camera.

"This guy, emboldened because I did not react and kept doing my job, put his hand between my buttocks twice more. I decided to defend myself.

"I do not regret at all in my way of acting before his attack because I had previously suffered harassment in the performance of my journalistic work.

"I defended myself because women are NOT GOING TO LEAVE AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO STOP."
